Jill (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Kansas (LPC 03967). Jill holds a Master of Science in Counseling / Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Jill completed her internship at a private practice in New Mexico and served a diverse population of clients for a variety of mental health concerns. Jill has extensive and diverse experience in the healthcare field, including Medicaid managed care and community-based care coordination. Jill is a Kansas native who enjoys working with adult clients throughout the state using a person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
Jill provides counseling services to individuals using Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jill uses EMDR treatment as a means of assisting clients with the neurobiological aspect of addressing trauma by reducing responsiveness to negative cognitions and reinforcing positive beliefs.
Jill’s treatment focus includes those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma (including spiritual abuse and religious trauma), life transitions, family conflict and relationship issues, and grief and loss of loved ones, including pets. Jill is passionate about supporting clients in identifying and reaching their mental health goals through a collaborative process.
Jill is empathetic and supportive, and believes in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients to heal and grow. Jill is a steadfast advocate for embracing the richness of human diversity, including affirming the experiences and contributions of those who are neurodivergent. Jill believes in creating spaces that celebrate and accommodate all forms of cognitive and neurological diversity, recognizing the unique strengths and perspectives of neurodivergent individuals. Jill believes in advocating for acceptance and in the dismantling of barriers that prevent full participation in society for all people.
